The first step in creating your fully bespoke kitchen is an initial Design Consultation. We will arrange a meeting with one of our designers, either at our studio in North London, or at your home, to discuss the key elements of your project. During this consultation we will discuss your kitchen layout and functionality in detail, offering a wide range of storage solutions, material options, worktop samples and the best appliances that will work for you. We will take you through the projects we have done in the past, highlight any similarities and present you with any material and design elements that may be relevant to you.
With the initial concept decided we can compile an outlining brief for your kitchen, taking into account your lifestyle, timescale, budget and design preferences. We will then send you a preliminary design brief and initial quote containing a cost and design breakdown for your kitchen. If at this stage you choose to commission Powell Picano for your building works, we will ask for a commissioning deposit. This will secure our services for your project and allow us to continue on to the design and development stage.
Once you have commissioned our services and we have established a design brief, our team of designers will begin drafting a client Drawing and Design pack outlining the floor plan, elevations of the proposed joinery and photo-realistic renders to further help visualise the project. We will also make a site visit to take an accurate survey of the existing space so we can design to accurately defined parameters. This is the stage where we can begin to discuss and finalise the finer details and specifics of your kitchen such as materials, finishes, appliances, worktops, back-splashes, sinks, taps and handles.
Once the design and drawings have been approved we will liaise with the workshop team and formally begin the construction of your project. From here, our expert team of cabinet makers will fabricate, test fit, inspect and finally deconstruct your kitchen, ready to be wrapped for protection and delivered to your home. We fully construct all our kitchens and cabinetry in our North London workshop before they are delivered to ensure everything is correct and made to the signed off Drawing and Design Pack. This is the stage where we can check that everything has been constructed to the highest quality and to the specifications outlined.
After your project has been fully checked we will begin the installation phase. The same expert team of cabinet makers who constructed your project will accompany our installation manager and install on site making sure your project is in good hands and that the project ends smoothly. Installation usually takes between 2-3 weeks depending on your project and a further 2-3 weeks for worktops and backsplashes if metal or stonework is required. We do not sign off our kitchens or joinery projects until the installation is perfect and you are 100% satisfied – down to the last handle.
